Life in the Sixth Form at Royal Hospital is both challenging and exciting. We hope this evening will give you an overview of our Sixth Form, an opportunity to meet Heads of Departments, learn about our A Level and BTEC subjects and ask questions.
For more than 300 years we have helped pupils navigate through their critical and formative years and today we provide a full and broad education fit for the modern world.

MEET OUR STAFF AND pupils
SIXTH FORM SUBJECTS
In the Sixth Form, pupils can study a wide range of core academic subjects. We offer A Levels in art (fine art/photography/textiles), biology, business, chemistry, classical civilisation, economics, English language, English literature, French, further mathematics, geography, government and politics, history, Latin, mathematics, music, music technology, physics, product design, psychology, religious studies, sociology and Spanish. We also offer the BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Sport (one A Level equivalent), the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (two A Level equivalent) and the BTEC Creative Digital Media Production. Pupils selecting the BTEC in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship study this alongside one other subject, whilst all other pupils select three core academic subjects.
These core subjects are supplemented with an elective academic subject which could be: further mathematics A Level; the Level 3 Extended Project Qualification (EPQ); the Level 3 Certificate in Higher Sports Leadership; an IELTS qualification; the Cambridge Technical in IT, a Level 2 qualification; or the BTEC Level 2 First Award in Performing Arts.

In year 13, alongside your three A Levels, you will take an additional elective subject which will lead to a further qualification to include on your CV. There’s a wide range of choices to ensure everyone will find something that will spark their interest as well as being enjoyable. The courses are run on 6 periods per fortnight over the course of Year 12, with the exception of Further Mathematics which is taught over ten periods in both Year 12 and Year 13.

- OCR LEVEL 2 CAMBRIDGE TECHNICAL IN IT
At RHS we offer a wide range of sporting opportunities. We are lucky to have 96 acres of sports fields and pitches. We also currently have nearly 200 co-curricular clubs with everything from debating to climbing on offer. Pupils also have the opportunity to take part in CCF and The Duke of Edinburgh Award.
