FOOD & CATERING

We understand the importance of providing all pupils with nutritious meals. Our approach offers a variety of balanced options whilst allowing flexibility for different appetites, preferences and nutritional needs.
Pupils enjoy a diverse selection of fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced dishes, as well as global cuisines, to ensure there is something for everyone.

BREAKFASTPupils start their day with a wholesome and nourishing breakfast, featuring a variety of choices such as a traditional English breakfast, cereal, porridge, toast, homemade granola, fresh fruit, and pastries.

LUNCH & SUPPERLunch at RHS is a highlight, providing pupils with a much-needed energy boost in the middle of the day. Food options include a homemade soup of the day, and multiple meat and vegetarian mains.

In the evening, pupils enjoy a well-balanced and satisfying evening supper, with options that include meat, fish and plant-based dishes.

Both meals are complemented by a choice of carbohydrates and vegetables, freshly baked bread and a well-stocked salad bar. Both meals offer a delicious hot or cold pudding, or fresh fruit.

ACCOMMODATING DIETARY NEEDS
We recognise that pupils have a variety of dietary preferences, needs, and allergen considerations.
We work closely with each pupil to ensure they have suitable food options, for example, we offer oat milk, vegetarian and vegan dishes,
and maintain a strict nut-free policy across the school.

FUELLING OUR ATHLETESSport plays a significant role in life at RHS, and we are dedicated to supporting our athletes, including during mealtimes.
Pupils benefit from additional protein sources, alongside their main meal selection including legumes, lentils, beans, pulses and more.

OUR MENUSTo provide a well-rounded dining experience, our menus offer variety throughout the week. Weekdays follow a consistent structure, whilst weekends introduce more flexibility, whilst still ensuring balanced nutrition.

Our food committee works closely with pupils to keep the menu diverse and exciting, featuring a range of global cuisines, pop-up events and thematic meals to ensure there’s something for everyone.

Another amazing part about RHS is the food, my favourite meal I have had was the thanksgiving feast, I also really like when the food is based off different countries and their cuisine as it shows the diversity around RHS.

HERITAGE CAFÉ

The Heritage Café is a fantastic addition to RHS, blending history with modern comforts. Located in the former Heritage Centre, it offers a welcoming space for pupils, staff, and parents to enjoy quality drinks and snacks.

We serve organically sourced coffee, a variety of teas, Italian-style hot chocolate, milkshakes, smoothies, and cold drinks. Our food selection includes sweet and savoury treats, as well as fresh hot paninis, and ice cream during summer term.

In summer 2022, RHS partnered with Freshpac to create our exclusive “Buonissimo” Italian-style coffee, using ethically sourced beans from Brazil, Central America, and SE Asia, roasted in Suffolk. Freshpac, a family-run business, supports sustainable farming and local suppliers. They hold a Bronze Carbon Charter Award for their eco-friendly practices, including plastic reduction and compostable packaging.
