WHY CHOOSE

LITTLE OAKS NURSERY

A Unique Outdoor Learning Experience
At Little Oaks, we believe that childhood should be filled with exploration, discovery, and meaningful time outdoors. Set within the beautiful surroundings of the Royal Hospital School campus, our nursery offers children the opportunity to learn and grow in an inspiring natural environment, where outdoor experiences are part of everyday life.

Forest School Inspired Learning
Our Forest School approach encourages children to connect with nature, take managed risks, solve problems, and build confidence through hands-on experiences. Whether exploring the outdoors, investigating natural materials, or working together in open spaces, children develop resilience, independence, and a strong sense of curiosity from an early age.

Learning Through Play
We know that young children learn best when they are engaged, active, and having fun. From imaginative play and storytelling to outdoor adventures, sensory exploration, and creative activities, every day at RHS Nursery is thoughtfully designed to spark joy and encourage a lifelong love of learning.

A Warm and Nurturing Environment
RHS Nursery provides a safe, caring, and welcoming setting where every child is known, valued, and supported as an individual. Our experienced team creates an environment where children feel secure, happy, and confident, allowing them to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.

Strong Foundations for Early Learning
Our carefully planned early years curriculum combines play, exploration, and structured learning to support the development of key skills in communication, literacy, numeracy, creativity, and personal growth. We aim to ensure that every child leaves us with strong foundations and a genuine enthusiasm for learning.

Part of the Royal Hospital School Community
As part of the Royal Hospital School setting, RHS Nursery benefits from a unique sense of space, community, and belonging. Children enjoy being part of a wider educational environment from the very beginning, helping to create a natural and confident transition into school life.

ACTIVITIES

MUSIC

Children enjoy regular opportunities to sing, move, explore rhythm, and experiment with instruments. Music is woven into the nursery day to encourage self-expression, listening skills, and confidence.

ART, CRAFT AND DESIGN A LEVEL

YOGA

Our yoga sessions introduce children to movement, balance, and mindfulness in a fun and age-appropriate way. These activities help support focus, coordination, and emotional wellbeing.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Through active games, movement sessions, obstacle courses, and outdoor challenges, children build strength, coordination, and physical confidence while developing a love of movement.

COOKING

Cooking activities provide a wonderful hands-on learning experience, helping children explore food, nutrition, following instructions, and independence in a fun and engaging way.

MINDFULNESS & QUIET TIME

We create calm moments within the day for children to pause, reflect, and reset. Through quiet time, guided breathing, and gentle mindfulness activities, children begin to develop focus and emotional awareness.

SPANISH

Children are introduced to Spanish through songs, stories, games, and simple everyday language, making early language learning enjoyable, natural, and engaging.

A vibrant Spanish flag flutters against a clear blue sky with wispy white clouds.
