Celebrating Women

As part of International Women's Day 2022 the Diversity Committee led an initiative for members of staff to recreate images of iconic women whilst the Art Department dedicated Vol 2 of their Art Zine to the theme of Women. Pupils and staff were asked to submit images of women in all forms, from painting to poetry! See the fantastic outcomes below:

Art Zine Vol 2: Women

On Monday 26 September, the Psychology department hosted an Alumni Q&A event in the Library. Eight alumni, who had all studied Psychology at RHS, returned to share their experiences of continuing in a related field through to degree level. We had a range of Institutions represented, from Durham to Exeter, as well as a variety of degrees, including Criminology, Sports Psychology and Sociology, as well as pure Psychology.

The current pupils, from Year 11-13, took the opportunity to attend, ask questions, and help shape their own plans for the future. Some of our Year 13 pupils, currently making difficult University and career choices, found the evening particularly enlightening. One Year 13 pupil commented that “the alumni gave us open and honest answers and insight that we don’t get elsewhere”. Others reflected on the knowledge they gained about specific universities they are considering and how, “it was so helpful learning about the difference in universities that I hadn’t even considered.”  They all agreed it was a lovely experience and opportunity, and that Psychology was a great A Level choice for keeping your options open.

The Psychology department are so grateful to our lovely alumni for giving up their time to help the current pupils and look forward to inviting them back again next year.
