Vicky Adie, née Stock (Cornwallis 2004) is a Senior Physiotherapist in the NHS however, her other passion is Pilates and most importantly, making it accessible for all. Having seen the benefits of targeted exercises in her day job as a Physio, Vicky decided to undertake further training to become a Pilates instructor. In 2019 Vicky launched her platform, Pilates Live – an online resource that enables people to access Pilates classes for free and brings the studio to wherever you are.
The lockdowns that have meant that gyms have had to close, so this platform has proved to be more important than ever. There has been a surge in the number of people that want to be able to workout from the comfort of their own home. Vicky's Pilates classes have reached people in USA, France, Spain, Costa Rica and as far as the other side of the world in Australia!
"The free online classes have really taken off. I have been overwhelmed by how large the community has grown over the past year and am continually motivated by the wonderful feedback I get from people all over the globe. People have become really connected to the service and it is wonderful to be able to share my passion for Pilates and exercise in general."
Vicky's website has a wide range of different classes available which aim to suit most abilities – from a quick15 minute class for those short of time, to an hour long class that is perfect for those self-care moments.
