The Tempest

The Tempest

At the Shakespeare Schools Festival our pupils put on a performance of The Tempest which transported audiences back to the glamorous jazz age of New Orleans and the dark voodoo magic of the wizard Prospero; expertly and chillingly played by Juliet. This young cast of pupils from across years 7 -10 relished the opportunity to perform in a professional theatre space at the Apex in Bury St Edmunds. With live music, a jazz dance routine and hilarious comic turns from Ethan and Isabella, the energy of this production was unsurpassed and had the audience howling with laughter. Joel and Scarlett played the young lovers with an impressive tenderness and naivety that made you really believe that they were falling in love.

Special thanks to Miss Belle and Miss Taylor-Payne for leading this production and coaxing excellent performances from all.
