School Chess Champion wins Suffolk Chess Megafinal
After securing the title of Royal Hospital School Chess Champion 2018, Rowley K went on to take the regional victory of the Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge.
Rowley took no prisoners in the school stage, impressively winning all seven of his matches in the RHS Chess Tournament. Advancing to the Suffolk regional stage called the Megafinal he again took the win, earning a superb score of 5.5 points out of 6; an excellent result in a competitive county standard competition.
This latest victory has secured him a place at the Gigafinal taking place in Manchester in July. The Gigafinal whittles down the competitors to just nine players who then battle it out for the £2500 prize money at the Terafinal in September. With Rowley looking so strong in the opening stages we have high hopes and wish him the best of luck over the summer.
