Paddlers ready for canoe marathon over Easter weekend

RHS paddlers are gearing up for the ultimate canoe marathon, Devizes to Westminster, which takes place over the Easter weekend.

The Royal Hospital School has nine pupil teams taking part this year all of whom are eligible for the race after competing in a series of qualifier races over the past few months. DW coach, Liz Polson, who has taken part in the 125 mile challenge twice herself, said "The pupils have worked incredibly hard in preparation for the race which is reputably the most challenging endurance competition open to under 18s. Not only do we have we 17 current pupils taking part but they are joined by eight former pupils and one staff member. This is a total of 15 RHS crews; the largest school representation ever. DW is a mile-stone event for us at RHS and I have great hopes for this year's crews."
