We are devastated that our pupils are having to learn from home again now that schools have closed once more. We love having them onsite so that they can use all of the facilities our 200-acre site provides.
Our online learning is fully operational and our pupils are all on track academically, but what about life outside of lessons? Unthwarted by the challenge set to him, our Head of Co-curricular Brian Martineau and the school's staff have created 76 virtual after school clubs.
We realise that screen fatigue is an issue for all children, so we've ensured that there are some great exercise options and more importantly a lot of fun available. There are also opportunities to socialise with much missed friends and perhaps learn a new skill such as Mandarin.
Clubs include everything from exercise clubs, Dragons Den, fast baking, vlogging and teen tech to name but a few.
Take a look at the full list of options available for pupils at RHS while our school is closed:
Our pupils have been extremely keen in signing up for 2 activities each week and they're lucky to have a sports department that's created additional workouts for them to enjoy. Our Director of Sport Nick Cooper has taken on Joe Wicks and created his own workout videos for pupils and their families to join in with. He's keeping the pupils entertained with his fancy dress outfits...what a good sport!
Our sailing department are really missing getting on the water with their sailing scholars and have been using virtual regattas to keep the pupils' minds on the principles of successful sailing.
