Our U18 girls took on a monumental challenge at this year’s Rosslyn Park 7s, battling against top-tier opposition, including Peter Symonds College (Cup Winners) and the Amazonian Barbarians (Plate Winners). They also played against Emanuel School and Clifton College.
With just nine players, the squad stepped up to the occasion, showing incredible courage and skill throughout the tournament. Despite facing tough competition, they played with heart and determination, scoring fantastic tries in every game - even against the eventual champions!
Led superbly by Tilly, the team showed a relentless mindset and a "never-give-up" attitude. Their final game was a thrilling contest against a talented South African touring side, featuring players from Western Province.
A special thank you to our Year 13 players, who have been true trailblazers for RHS girls’ rugby. Through their leadership, dedication, and passion, they have inspired future generations and paved the way for the continued growth of the sport at RHS.
Well done, girls—what an experience!
Special Mention
Also, a special mention must go to Ema and Abbey. Following an injury, Ema had to go to A&E in Kingston. She was incredibly patient and brave, handling the situation with a calm attitude and great sense of humour. Abbey was a fantastic teammate and friend, willing to stay with Ema when the rest of the team headed home. Abbey kept Ema's spirits up when both of the girls really wanted to get home after an exhausting day. Their support for each other truly embodied the camaraderie and unity of RHS girls' rugby.
