Tennis Captains

Boys Tennis Captain, Antonio Alles Pons

We are excited to introduce Antonio Alles Pons, our Boys Tennis Captain for this term. Antonio a Year 13 student in Nelson house, has been playing tennis since he was a child and has rekindled his passion for the sport since joining RHS.

Antonio enjoys playing doubles as he loves team sports, but also enjoys playing singles as it helps him build mental strength and feel accomplished when he wins a match by himself. He primarily plays padel tennis with his friends but represents Prested Tennis Club in Colchester and Padelin in Menorca.

As the tennis captain, Antonio is determined to ensure that everyone enjoys the sport and strives to win all the competitions that they participate in. When we asked him how RHS has helped him reach this level in tennis, he commented, "RHS allowed me to play tennis against other schools and the courts are open every day, so I can train whenever I want. This flexibility has allowed me to practice tennis for fun and for training with my friends."

After RHS, Antonio plans to continue playing tennis for fun but wants to pursue rugby in Spain, which is his favorite sport.

Girls Tennis Captain, Evie-Mae Thorpe

We are pleased to introduce Evie-Mae Thorpe as our Girls' Tennis Captain for this term! Evie has been playing tennis for fun with family and friends from a young age, and for the last couple of years, she has been getting lessons at a club. She now plays at Cromer Tennis Club and has honed her skills through regular practice.

Evie enjoys the social aspect of the sport and loves to play doubles with her friends. As captain, Evie wants to encourage others to play tennis and improve the team's skills.

Evie comments, “After RHS, I would like to go straight into a degree apprenticeship. I will continue to play sports for enjoyment in my free time, possibly taking part in some tournaments and club games.

We are thrilled to have Antonio and Evie lead the tennis teams this term and look forward to seeing the team excel under their leadership.
