The Sunday Times Schools Guide ranks RHS as one of their 'Top Independent Schools in East Anglia'
The Royal Hospital School has been ranked as one of the 'Top Independent Schools in East Anglia' by The Sunday Times, once again.
The Headmaster, Simon Lockyer, comments;
"We are delighted to gain this recognition by The Sunday Times Schools Guide. The true value of an RHS education is not measured by academic results. Nonetheless, as a non-selective school, we are delighted that it shows for the sixth consecutive year the school continuing to climb this league table. This reinforces that by setting high expectations for all our pupils, they can be stretched academically and achieve results they can be proud of. We believe that education is much broader than just grades; our leading co-curricular programme allows our pupils to discover and explore their interests both inside and outside of the classroom, developing enviable employability skills in the process. It is undoubtedly what many parents value and identify as a distinctive feature of RHS.
If not more significantly, we recognise that success by any measure is influenced by a pupil's wellbeing, which is why we continue to make this a priority as we seek to develop confident and happy young people."
This endorsement comes on the back of an outstanding inspection last November, when the school was rated 'Excellent' in all areas, at a time when gaining this level of endorsement has become increasingly difficult.
RHS was also the only independent school in Suffolk to be included in the Tatler Schools Guide 2023, and was proud to be chosen as one of five finalists for 'Co-Educational School of the Year' in the Independent School of the Year Awards 2022, out of hundreds of school entries across the UK.
