Sailing World Record!

New World Record!

Toby S, Year 13 sailor, has once again made waves in the sailing world, setting a new Waszp speed world record of 31 knots.

This latest achievement comes just two weeks after Toby previously set the record at 30.4 knots. The title was briefly taken at the Australian Championships, but Toby has now reclaimed it - and pushed the benchmark even higher.

The record-breaking run took place at the start of the UK season championships at Datchet, during a particularly windy weekend that created the perfect conditions for high speeds on the water. Having just crossed the finish line of a race, Toby spotted a powerful gust rolling down the course and seized the moment!

Toby’s accomplishment is a testament to his dedication, resilience and skills on the water.

Our sailors are looking forward to being back at Datchet later this week for the BSDRA Thames Valley Championships.

Congratulations to Toby on becoming the Wazp world speed record holder.
