RHS Named as Finalist in BSA Boarding Excellence Awards!

We are delighted to announce that we were named as a finalist in the distinguished BSA Boarding Excellence Awards in the Best Artwork Project Award category, this recognition highlights our commitment to excellence in education and artistic endeavours!

The exceptional artwork project earned us a coveted spot as a finalist in the Best Artwork Project Award category at the BSA Boarding Excellence Awards. Executed by RHS’ talented boarding pupils, Niece (Year 12) and Ovie (Year 11) the project was inspired by Cephas Williams' powerful installation, 'A Portrait of Black Britain,' and was initiated to commemorate Black History Month and foster ongoing conversations about diversity and celebration.

Mrs Harriet Barber, Head of Art at RHS, expressed her admiration for the art project series, highlighting its role in capturing the essence of RHS’ Black pupils and staff, saying: "The idea was to capture the vibrancy and beauty of the Black community at RHS, and celebrate the future of Black Britain. Pupils, Niece and Ovie have done an amazing job taking the shots. The display is a wonderful, vibrant, heart-warming celebration and its fantastic to see Niece and Ovie’s project shortlisted in the BSA Boarding Excellence Awards. Over 30 pupils and staff have had their portraits taken and we hope more members of our school’s community will come and be photographed!"
