Before we reached half term, some of our A Level Politics and History pupils travelled to London, starting their day with a visit to Westminster for a tour of the Houses of Parliament. While there, they had the opportunity to meet James Cartlidge, MP for South Suffolk, with whom they shared their views about the issues that are of concern to young people today.
Following the tour, the group walked to the Royal Courts of Justice where they took part in a courtroom simulation, examining a real-life case relating to 'stop and search' and playing the parts of judges, claimants and defendants. Through this they gained valuable first-hand experience of the UK’s legal system. A fantastic day of political and legal learning!
