Language Trip Highlights – June 2025🎒
Last Monday, our Year 8 pupils, along with Year 12 French and Spanish pupils, flew to Barcelona. Upon arrival, they travelled to their hotel in Lloret de Mar and wasted no time - heading straight to the beach before enjoying dinner and evening activities.
On Tuesday, the group took on a round of mini golf in Argeles-sur-Mer before heading to the beautiful medieval city of Girona. After some free time for lunch, pupils enjoyed a guided walking tour through the city, followed by independent exploration. Back at the hotel, the group split; some relaxed by the pool while others headed to the beach for a game of volleyball and a dip in the sea. After dinner, they enjoyed a mini disco at the hotel, complete with traditional Spanish music.
Wednesday brought a visit to the Château in Collioure, followed by free time at the local market where Tommy discovered the best apricots and kindly shared them with the group! The charm of Collioure’s streets and houses captivated everyone. Later, the group travelled to Figueres to explore the fascinating Dalí Museum, ending the day once again with pool and beach time - by popular demand.
The final day was action-packed, starting with a visit to Waterworld. Coinciding with the last day of school in Spain, this gave our students a fantastic opportunity to practise their language skills while enjoying some of the park’s biggest slides alongside Spanish pupils. The trip concluded with a scenic boat tour at the Port of Barcelona. After soaking up the last of the sunshine, the group headed to the airport and returned home - with memories to last a lifetime.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this trip such a success - what a brilliant way to bring language learning to life!
