Year 9 Languages Careers Event 

At the end of January, the Classics Department held a Year 9 Languages Careers Event. We were very grateful to be joined by parents Mrs Rhodes, Mr Jennings and Ms Neill who were able to share their experiences.  

Mrs Rhodes works as a project manager for Arthur J Gallagher but also has experience of working for a company translating books into other languages. Mr Jennings runs an industrial laundry in Spain and Ms Neill is the Director of Global Assurance Change at EY, a firm with over 300k people with a range of nationalities, cultures and languages.  

Our visitors explained to the pupils the ways in which languages help them in their current careers and provide them with essential transferable skills. The pupils then had a chance to ask questions and to try out some activities to discover the ways in which language learning could help them in the future.
