Horse Riding
The Royal Hospital School offers horse riding through a partnership with Bylam Livery Stables and experienced trainer Caroline Colwill.
Caroline has been training pupils on the Royal Hospital School Equestrian Team since 2008, preparing them for a regular calendar of competitions such as the Royal Windsor Horse Show and National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) events.
The riding school, which caters for every level of experience from beginner to advanced level, is situated 3 miles from the school and is surrounded by picturesque Suffolk countryside. The school provides a comprehensive programme of riding lessons, equine care training and the opportunity to study for British Horse Society stage examinations. Equestrianism can be used as one of the three sports required for the practical unit of GCSE Physical Education.
Livery facilities are also available for those pupils who wish to bring their own horse or pony to school during the term time and riding may be chosen as a games option or as an after-school activity.
