Royal Hospital School Named Finalist for Inspiring Sporting Activities in the Talk Education Innovation Awards 2025

We are proud to announce that the Royal Hospital School has been named a Finalist in the Talk Education Awards for Innovation in Education 2025 in the category of Inspiring Sporting Activities.

Sport at RHS is more than competition – it is a way of life. Every pupil is encouraged to embrace physical activity, not only to develop athletic performance but also to support mental wellbeing, resilience and balance alongside their academic studies.

From rugby, hockey and netball to sailing, athletics and cricket, our pupils have access to a vast range of sporting opportunities, supported by expert coaching and first-class facilities. Our unique location and maritime heritage mean that sailing is at the heart of RHS life. With a fleet of more than 60 boats, our Sailing Academy is a recognised RYA Training Centre and a Centre of Excellence for Sailing – inspiring pathways that stretch all the way to Olympic level.

Many RHS pupils have gone on to achieve at the very highest level of sport, representing Team GB, England and professional clubs across rugby, football, cricket, hockey, netball and skiing. At the same time, our recreational programmes ensure that all pupils – whether elite athletes or enthusiastic beginners – can enjoy the benefits of sport and physical activity.

Being named a finalist in this prestigious award reflects the energy, ambition and commitment of our community in making sport both inspiring and inclusive for every pupil.
