🌟 Preview Evening: Arts Summer Show
Fri 14 June 6pm | The annual Art, Design and Technology Summer Show is the jewel in the crown of the creative year at RHS. A stunning collection of Artwork, by our year 11 and 13 pupils is curated alongside outstanding design work and innovative use of technology and materials. Open to all, the preview event invites you to enjoy complimentary refreshments alongside an evening of art and innovation, in our beautiful sun-drenched atrium gallery.
🎨 Summer Show Pre-Concert Drinks
Sat 15 June 6pm | A first for this year, the Art, Design and Technology departments invite the friends of RHS music, and guests to the summer concert to enjoy a pre-concert drink in the stunning surroundings of our Summer Show in the Atrium Gallery. This beautiful space, showcasing the outstanding work of our GCSE and A-level artists and young designers will be the perfect setting to begin your evening.
🎶 Summer Concert: Feel the Spirit
Sat 15 June 7pm | Experience a captivating evening of choral excellence as we present an unforgettable concert featuring Rutter’s sublime Feel the Spirit and Vaughan Williams’ ethereal Five Mystical Songs. Immerse yourself in the beauty of these masterpieces, brought to life by our combined choirs and accompanied by an orchestra of professional musicians. Let the enchanting melodies and profound lyrics transport you on a spiritual journey that will leave you both moved and inspired. Join us for an extraordinary musical event that celebrates the power and transcendence of the human spirit.
🎹 Organ Recital: Peter Crompton, Organist Emeritus
Sun 16 June 4.30pm | We are delighted to have Organist Emeritus Peter Crompton return to the Grand Organ of the Royal Hospital School Chapel. Following nearly four decades of service at RHS, Peter possesses unparalleled familiarity with the instrument, and his performances consistently showcase the remarkable capabilities of this awe-inspiring English-romantic organ. A popular programme will include music by Bonnet, Gigout, Guilmant, Ives, Mendelssohn, Vierne and more.
📚 Author Visit for Selected Pupils
Weds 19 June 9.55am - 1.05pm | Meet LGBTQ+ author Simon James Green at the Burns Recital Hall. Simon is an author and screenwriter. His books have been nominated for several awards and have been recognised as some the most important LGBTQ+ books of the last 50 years! Years 7,8,9 pupils will have the chance to meet Simon during the morning. There will also be a chance for pupils to have a VIP meet and greet with Simon over lunch in the library. Pupils can talk to Mrs Burns for more information.
🐉 Junior Play: The Snow Dragon
Weds 19/20 June 7.30pm | Join us in the Wellbeing Woods for a magical performance. With a large ensemble cast of our youngest pupils, this open-air, site specific piece of drama takes place in the woods as the sun goes down. Based on Norse mythology, this story encompasses very modern concerns of war and personal conflict. Audiences are invited to bring their own seating and wrap up warmly for a night of entertainment.
🎤 Gig Night III
Sat 22 June 7pm | RHS Gig Nights continue to be a celebration of pupil talent, so the more we can cram in each year the better! Join us for an evening of solos, duets and bands, with music to keep you dancing all night long.
