Creative Futures Fair

Our Art Department held its very first Creative Futures Fair last week. Creative professionals, RHS alumni currently studying creative courses, and representatives from creative universities all attended the event. The Fair aimed to provide a glimpse into the various pathways available for creative degrees, careers and futures.

Throughout the afternoon, there were numerous engaging activities. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in university workshops, both in person and virtually. There were also insightful talks by course leaders and creative professionals. Pupils particularly enjoyed the Q & A café, where they could grab a coffee and have conversations with RHS alumni about their creative courses. Additionally, there was a university marketplace where pupils could collect prospectuses and engage in conversations with student ambassadors and course leaders from various creative universities.

Harriet Barber, Head of Art, commented, 'It was fantastic to showcase just a few of the creative opportunities out there for our young people. The UK has a creative economy worth £27 billion and culture brings around £850 million to the UK each year, so as an industry, it is one of our fastest-growing. We are really keen to ensure our pupils understand the value of creative education and can see pathways into creative futures. Our Creative Futures Fair was a great way for pupils to engage with this.”
