Our Year 11, 12 and 13 Classicists visited the British Museum recently to get an up-close view of the artefacts they have been studying in class.Kate C, Year 13, comments: "This trip was 10/10! It was very informative as it let me see details that would be impossible to see in photos. I really enjoyed seeing artefacts that we study in lessons such as the vase showing the wedding of Thetis and Peleus, which was much bigger than I thought it would be. The highlight for us was seeing the Bassai Frieze marble sculpture, though it was quite sad to realise that it was not in its original temple in Greece. We had some interesting discussion about partnering sculptures; I personally believe they should still be in Athens." Erin E, Year 13, comments: "It was a really fun trip and it helped with my knowledge of our course."
