I joined RHS in Year 7 in 2022, and my first thought was how massive the rugby green and the main school block were! The school really helped me settle in by giving me a buddy (a friend in an older year group) to guide me around. It made everything so much easier.
Making friends was extremely easy. Everyone was very approachable and friendly, so there’s nothing to worry about.
Since joining RHS, I’ve taken part in loads of extracurricular activities like kickboxing, Bits and Bytes (computing), tennis, Warhammer club, a bit of climbing, and judo. There’s such a variety of activities, which I love that about RHS. I chose this school because I wanted to take part in Divisions, as well as the wide range of activities, and the pupils all seemed happy here.
My favourite place on campus has to be Hawke House Green because I’ve made so many great memories playing football and rugby with my friends. The thing that makes RHS special is its history, the traditions like Divisions and Chapel services, and the fact that it's right next to a river! There are also plenty of boarding houses, which makes it feel like a second home.
The EAL support here is amazing too. The teachers really help with any language barriers, making sure you understand the basics before moving on to normal English classes.
And of course, I can’t forget about the food - Mac and Cheese is my absolute favourite!
When I eventually leave RHS, the thing I’ll miss the most is just spending time with my friends. This school has given me so many great experiences, and I’m really glad I chose to come here.
