It’s been a remarkable season for RHS Athletics, with our talented pupils achieving outstanding results, breaking records, and earning places at top national competitions!
Leading the way is Davina O, who qualified for the National Finals in both the 70m Hurdles and 200m, and was crowned East Area Prep Schools Champion. She will now go on to compete at the prestigious Alexander Stadium in Birmingham this July, a fantastic achievement.
At the ISA National Finals in June, also held at Alexander Stadium, five RHS pupils competed with distinction. Davina continued her spectacular form, becoming ISA National Champion in both the 70m Hurdles and 200m for Year 7 girls.
In Year 9, Tillie J stormed to victory in the 200m, also earning the title of ISA National Champion. There was more to celebrate as Saskia W broke a long-standing school record in the 100m, racing to an incredible silver medal. Tim P rounded off the day with a well-earned bronze medal in the Discus, an event outside his usual discipline.
The momentum continued at the Anglian School Championships in Peterborough on 21st June, where Ollie I and Tillie J represented Suffolk. Ollie ran a strong race in a tough 400m field, while Tillie impressed once again, claiming a superb silver in the U15 Girls 200m.
Looking ahead, we’re proud to announce that Sean E (2000m Steeplechase) and Femi S-A (400m) have both been selected as part of the 32-strong Suffolk squad for the upcoming English Schools’ Finals in Birmingham this July.
Congratulations to all our RHS athletes on a season filled with determination, excellence, and pride. Your achievements are an inspiration, and we can’t wait to see what you do next!
