Arkwright 2024

Arkwright 2024

This year, we are delighted that 12 of our Year 11 pupils were nominated for the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. The nomination came as a result of their strong practical interest and ability towards the potential of Engineering as a career choice. All nominated pupils sat an aptitude assessment before Easter, which tested their ability to problem solve, and design solutions to different contexts given to them.

The Arkwright Engineering Scholarships are widely respected by academia and industry. They provide an enhancement to Scholars’ CVs, and come with a financial reward, both to the pupil and to the school in order to optimise their studies towards a career in Engineering.

The Arkwright scholarship additionally opens the opportunity for individuals to develop links, take part in enrichment activities and have access to mentoring.

Should they be successful with their application and aptitude exam, the pupils will then be invited to an interview, where they will be assessed for their understanding of Engineering.

All our Year 11 candidates have worked hard to undertake their application this year and we are pleased to be able to share with you that the following have been successful in reaching the 3rd and final stage in the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship Process 2024.

We have had a fantastic set of candidates throughout this year, with 2024 being the most successful to date at RHS.

At RHS we are always encouraging our pupils to make their mark on the world and take part in activities and competitions to support this and so watch out for the STEM activities that are going on in each of the curriculum areas over the course of the year as well as in the upcoming STEMFEST24, which encompasses all things STEM in the Summer Term.
