Last Friday night, performing to a sell-out audience, James Pearson (Artistic Director at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club) and his jazz trio treated us to '100 Years of Jazz Piano'. The school's big band opened both acts with performances including the 'Theme from the Muppet Show', 'American Patrol' and 'Fly Me to the Moon', and featured solos from tenor saxophonist Harry L. To conclude each act, the newly formed RHS Rat Pack Singers, comprising Harry R, Raphael O, Daniel O and Jacob A, stunned the audience with their vocal skills. The boys sang some classic crooner tunes, including 'It Had to Be You', 'Moondance', 'L-O-V-E' and 'Mack the Knife'.
Following the concert, Year 12 vocalist Jacob said, "It is an experience I will never forget. Having the chance to sing these iconic songs, accompanied by a professional jazz trio, was an amazing opportunity."
