Topper 4.2 National Champion

Many pupils from RHS have had a very active summer holiday and that includes Giles, a Year 10 sailing scholar.

Sailing the single-handed Topper 4.2, he attended the Worlds in France and achieved a credible 13th place in July, then returned to the UK for the National Championships in Pwllheli, Wales over August.

This was a fleet racing event and 17 races were completed over 6 days in mixed weather of up to 30knts, Giles came out top in 1st place overall and had an incredible run of five 1st places on the second and third days.

Next year sees the National Championships held in Weymouth and the Worlds in China, Giles is already plotting his return to the podium.
