The Diana Award

Two RHS pupils awarded The Diana Award for social responsibility

Congratulations to Jessica Watson and Joshua Mellors, both in Year 13, who were awarded the prestigious Diana Award at the INSPIRE Essex ceremony held at New Hall today.

Jessica was nominated for her outstanding work in Peer Support and anti-bullying and Joshua for his many years of volunteering through the School’s Community Action Scheme, his help with baby swim sessions and his involvement in a charity dedicated to providing sailing opportunities for people with disabilities called the Woolverstone Project.

The Award is bestowed upon caring and compassionate young people and is a legacy to Princess Dianas belief that young people have the power to change the world for the better. Through the UK INSPIRE Series the mission is to inspire and recognise social action in young people.

In addition to attending the Awards Ceremony, Joshua and Jessica heard a number of inspiring speeches, gained some training in key employability skills and took part in social action workshops.
