Junior Latin Reading Competition
A Year 8 team consisting of Jaz S, Grace R, Emma W, Savannah C, Ben W, Matilda G and Archie S travelled to Parkside Community College to compete in the Cambridge Classical Association Junior Latin Reading Competition on Thursday 16 March.
This is an annual competition that encourages younger pupils to perform Latin aloud, either in a dramatic reading or as a part of a group performing a short dramatic scene. After the seniors won two prizes at the Senior Latin Reading Competition earlier in the academic year, RHS were looking to take home more prizes. Unfortunately, despite excellent performances, we were unable to place in the prizes, but the dramatic scene group and Jaz S were both given Highly Commended in their categories. A big thank you and well done to all seven pupils, as well as thanks to Mrs Kemsley and Mr Rosser for accompanying the group.
