Gold Expedition
Duke of Edinburgh Gold Expedition
Over the Easter break two boys’ teams and a girls’ team, each of four, took part in a expedition to Scotland to help earn or train for their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. The weather was mostly kind to them, a few strong winds and only half a day of heavy rain didn’t dampen spirits with all the participants successfully demonstrating their skills for the assessment and training.
There are three levels to the award and to achieve Gold participants must complete all the following sections:
Volunteering – 12 months
Physical and Skills – One section for 12 months and the other for 6 months
Expedition – 4 days/3 nights
Residential – 5 days/4 nights
