America's Cup Endeavour Regatta

RHS sailors selected for America's Cup Endeavour Regatta

The Land Rover BAR team lead by skipper Sir Ben Ainslie will challenge Team Oracle USA in Bermuda at the 35th match for the America’s Cup this summer. If they succeed they will lift the oldest trophy in international sport and bring the cup home to UK shores – a first for a British challenger.

In the wake of this exciting sailing race, national support and interest in sailing has swelled bringing with it an increase in youth races, training, charities and environmental projects surrounding the events. A junior regatta will be held during the halftime show on an official race day and will be included in the live television broadcast. Two Junior squad sailors at the Royal Hospital School, Lia F and Olivia G, have been selected to race in the RS Feva regatta during the Cup; a unique once in a lifetime experience and opportunity to witness some cutting edge sailing in the beautiful Bermuda waters.

Director of Sailing, Andy Nutton, commented, “This is a great achievement for the girls, especially as they are only in Year 8 and have been sailing together for just over a year.”
