FESTIVAL OF THE SEA
The Royal Hospital School is hosting a Festival of the Sea weekend of celebrations to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The Countess of Euston, H.M. Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, invited the School to host such an event due to our Naval heritage and our close links to the Royal Navy.
This is one of many events being run as part of the Festival of Suffolk. Many counties in the UK are also hosting a Festival of the Sea, including Suffolk, which is taking place on the weekend after our celebrations (18/19 June).
We have teamed up with the Royal Navy and other nautical associations to provide a wonderful afternoon of celebrations for all the family to enjoy. The event is open to the public and free of charge to attend; parking will be made available nearby (details to follow). Refreshments will be available to purchase and guests are welcome to bring rugs to picnic in the grounds. Displays, stalls and activities will run throughout the afternoon - a more detailed format of the day will be available soon.
Highlights include the Royal Navy Parachute and Royal Marines Display Teams!
