Our pupils have fantastic opportunities to excel in swimming and make a splash in and out of the pool.
As well as regular swimming lessons, which take place during core PE lessons and as a senior games option, pupils can use the school’s large indoor swimming pool for leisure swimming.
Keen swimmers join the school squad training on three evenings a week throughout the year, coached by former GB Paralympian, Ryan Crouch, and they regularly participate in local and national swimming galas.
Senior pupils can apply to train ‘in-house’ for the NPLQ award to become a qualified lifeguard and can then work at the school to supervise swimming sessions.
We are thrilled to welcome 12 new life guarding trainees. Our Year 12 pupils started their life guarding training here at the RHS swimming pool. Good luck to all of you!
A team of eight RHS swimmers took part in the prestigious Bath Cup at the London Aquatics Centre, Olympic Park.
The swimming season started with some strong results in the first gala of the year against Ipswich High School and St Joseph's College.
Congratulations to the 33 swimmers from RHS who completed the Great East Swim at Alton Water on Saturday.
GBR international swimmers, Tom Allen and Sophie Evans, visited RHS ahead of tomorrow’s Great East Swim, to provide some last minute tips for the pupils taking part.
