WELLBEING AT RHS
"Wellbeing at RHS is more than just helping a young person find a solution to their problem, it’s about encouraging and supporting them to develop an individual set of skills to look after their wellbeing throughout their school years and beyond."
Zoë King, Deputy Head (Pastoral)
Our goal is to help pupils build lifelong wellbeing by:
- Teaching self-care strategies.
- Monitoring wellbeing through pastoral systems.
- Providing personalised support, including specialist services.
- Guiding parents on supporting their children.

HEALTH CENTRE
Medical Care
Each house has a dedicated Matron responsible for the day-to-day health and wellbeing of its pupils.
In addition, the school operates a fully equipped Health Centre staffed by qualified nurses, a physiotherapist, and counsellors.
Full and weekly boarders (where requested by parents) are registered with the school doctor, who holds regular surgeries. Both male and female doctors are available.
Three-night boarders and day pupils should remain registered with their own family GPs. However, in the event of illness, they will be cared for in the Health Centre until they can be collected by their parents.

Dental Care
The school is proud to have its own dental surgery, offering a high standard of dental care.
A full range of treatments is available, including orthodontics, through the NHS (subject to eligibility) or privately.
Treatment is provided by:
-
Mr David Buchanan, BDS, LCS, RCS (Eng) 1985, GDC No. 59942
-
Miss Karen Vale, RDN, AInstLM, GDC No. 123587
