BOARDING & DAY COMMUNITY

At RHS, whether you're a boarder or a day pupil, you belong to a vibrant community built on shared values, rich traditions, and boundless opportunity.

We are proud of our long and distinguished tradition as a British boarding school.

Yet today, our community is enriched every bit as much by the many pupils who return home each evening as by those who live on campus.

Whether your child boards full-time, weekly, or returns home each evening, they will enjoy the same exceptional education, pastoral support, and co-curricular opportunities.

Boarding can feel like a big change, but with strong communication between school and home, plus our buddy and peer support systems, new pupils settle in quickly, often calling their House a true "home from home." For those living further away, it’s reassuring to know there are no compulsory exeat weekends, and even during quieter weekends, the school remains open.

Day pupils also benefit from outstanding facilities, including social spaces, changing rooms, storage, and Wi-Fi-equipped study areas, offering much more than most day schools. Many take advantage of the option to stay later, which is ideal for working parents and a great way to join in with co-curricular life. That said, day pupils are free to leave once their school day is done.
