By Coach from Portsmouth
A coach service operates between Portsmouth and the School at half-term and the end of most terms. There are several pick-up/drop-off points on each route and a nominated parent accompanies the pupils on the journey.
We can arrange transport to and from Ipswich or Manningtree stations; the cost will be added to your end-of-term account. We regret we cannot provide accompanied rail travel.
Transport to and from the four main London airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted) can be arranged through our Pupil Transport Officer. The basic cost of a transfer is approximately £100-160. Every effort is made for pupils to share transport to keep costs to a minimum, but this cannot be guaranteed. The cost will be added to your end-of-term account. Additional charges may be payable if an Unaccompanied Minor service is required.
Parents are responsible for obtaining airline tickets for their sons or daughters and, since the dates of holidays are published well in advance, they must ensure that the outward and return flights do not cut across the published times. The boarding Houses will remain open for an additional night after the published end-of-term date for boarding pupils who are unable to take a flight until the next day. If a pupil's flight departs more than 24 hours after the end of term or before the beginning of term, we ask that parents arrange for their child to stay with a guardian because the boarding Houses will be closed for the rest of each holiday.
Parents are also responsible for organising any necessary visas for entry or return to the UK. If your son or daughter is travelling as an Unaccompanied Minor, the appropriate arrangements should be made prior to flight departures or arrivals. An adult chaperone may be required to facilitate the hand-over of the Unaccompanied Minor to the necessary airline officials, and he or she may need to remain in the airport terminal for up to 45 minutes after a flight has departed. For full details, please check with the airline at the time of booking, as Unaccompanied Minor policy can vary significantly. Given sufficient notice, we are able to arrange Unaccompanied Minor assistance on your behalf.
To request airport transport or Unaccompanied Minor assistance, please complete an Airport Transfer Booking Form. A copy of the form will be supplied to you on acceptance of an offer of a place.
Stansted Airport Bus Service
