BOARDING COMMUNITY

We have a thriving boarding community at the Royal Hospital School and both our UK and international boarders can enjoy a whole range of social, cultural and educational activities over the weekends during term time. 'Leave Out' or 'Quiet' weekends are listed in the calendar and designed to be a chance to catch up, rest and recuperate. Local boarders may take the opportunity to go home on these weekends but there are no compulsory exeats and boarders can remain in school over any weekend during the term time.

We have unrivalled provision for sailing through the School's RYA training centre at neighbouring Alton Water. All Year 7 pupils are introduced to sailing and more than 100 pupils compete regularly through BSDRA team and fleet racing as well as gaining instructor qualifications and coastal cruising in Cornish Shrimpers.
