Sixth Form Entry
Acceptance into the Sixth Form is conditional upon candidates gaining a GCSE average point score of at least 5.5 where A* = 8, A = 7, B = 6, C = 5, D = 4 including at least a C grade in GCSE English.
As part of the admissions process, candidates will discuss AS Option Choices with the Head of Sixth Form. These will be dependent upon their predicted average point score and specific subject criteria. More information on the Option Choices and subject criteria are available on request.
A provisional place is then offered following an interview with the Headmaster, the Head of Sixth Form and, when appropriate, the relevant Heads of Department.
A satisfactory reference from the candidate’s present school is also required and all offers are conditional upon the candidate gaining the necessary grades at GCSE level.
As part of our admission process, all candidates are expected to attend the School for an interview with the Head of Sixth Form or another member of the Senior Management Team and only in very exceptional circumstances will a firm place be offered without a member of staff having had the opportunity to meet the candidate. With your prior permission, we will contact the Head Teacher of the candidate’s current school to ask for a reference.
