School Aims
The Royal Hospital School aims:
- to provide a full boarding and day school education for boys and girls who are aged from 11 to 18
- to provide a civilised, caring, Christian community, based upon mutual respect and value, trust and courtesy
- to have high expectations of pupils in academic matters
- to help pupils develop their full potential in sport and outdoor pursuits, in music and drama, and in artistic and cultural activities
- to develop an atmosphere in which learning and personal development can prosper
- to safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils with regard to their health and happiness and their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, moral, spiritual and behavioural development
- to encourage the development of personal qualities such as honesty, reliability, truthfulness, integrity, independence, adaptability, perseverance, initiative and self-confidence
- to promote high standards of personal appearance and dress, good manners and self-discipline
- to develop respect and tolerance for other people and the ideal of service within school and the community at large
- to prepare pupils for the challenges of life beyond school
