Nelson HouseAs they mature, the older pupils may be invited to act as prefects in their houses and, in their final year, some become school prefects. We believe that this opportunity for them to put something back into the community in which they live is an important part of growing up.

They will take charge of the routines of the house for either juniors or seniors on a daily basis and will offer leadership and support to those for whom they are responsible. At all times they are responsible to the duty member of staff and ultimately to the housemaster or housemistress. Prefects are encouraged to be role models and mentors to those for whom he or she has responsibility and many senior pupils are seen as key figures in the school’s well developed pastoral structure.
