The musical life of the school is much wider and richer than simply passing examinations. Opportunities beyond the curriculum are tremendous, with a school orchestra, ceremonial marching band, concert band and numerous ensembles.

The School has a strong tradition of choral singing. Performances attract audiences from far afieldand visitors talk enthusiastically of the 'Holbrook Sound' - over 600 voices passionately singing in the magnificent Chapel which houses one of the finest organs in Europe.
Over 300 pupils learn to play one, two or three instruments and the 130-strong school choir, widely recognised as outstanding, gives regular public performances including the Annual National Seafarers Service in St Paul's Cathedral and the Festival of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall.
