The Royal Hospital School is a leading independent full boarding and day school for girls and boys aged 11 to 18 years. Founded in 1712 in Greenwich, it moved to its present site set in 200 acres of Suffolk countryside in 1933. There are 362 boys and 274 girls, 197 pupils in the sixth form and a total of 602 full boarders. Rupert Powell, won the 400 meters at the National Prep School Championships in Birmingham on Monday 30 June with a time of 55.5 seconds; way ahead of the second place time of 58.1 seconds.
