This weekend 35 pupils across the age groups from Year 7 to 13 will take to the water in the Great East Swim at neighbouring Alton Water reservoir. This annual event attracts around 3,000 swimmers and involves either a 1/2 mile, 1 mile, 2 mile or 5km open water swim. It is part of the Great Swim Series which has five events across England and Scotland attracting in the region of 22,000 participants. A Merlin Mk 2 helicopter from 820 Naval Air Squadron touched down last month at RHS, flown in by former pupil Lt Timothy Wills (RN). Tim was greeted by his former housemasters from his time in Hawke and Nelson House; Mr Clive Rennison and Lt Col Marc Godfrey respectively.
